Welcome to my Fujitsu Lifebook pages. These pages are all about a laptop that I purchased in 2001. When I purchased the laptop, I was determined to run Linux on it. These pages document my (successful) efforts.

To create an image with a transparent background, the easiest thing to do is to cut/copy the image from it's original file and paste it into a new image with a transparent background. Below are the steps I used to create images with transparent backgrounds in Gimp.

ArsTechnica published an article on how to use SDL_perl, the Perl bindings to the Simple Direct Multimedia Library.

SDL is a cross-platform library that is mostly used to create games, but can also be used to interact with the video display, mouse, game controllers, keyboard, and sound. Perl is also cross-platform, making for some interesting possibilities.
